Responsibilities

  • Lead Rescale's government relations efforts and create and execute a comprehensive government relations and communications strategy.
  • Support the designing, planning, and implementing of appropriations and authorization strategies in partnership with business line leadership.
  • Develop and execute coordinated approaches to new business opportunities, working closely with business development leadership.
  • Develop the engagement strategy and represent the company in engagements with key stakeholders such as Members of Congress and their staff, Committee Staff, executive branch officials, industry groups, think tanks, and other audiences.
  • Communicate the company's value to customers, partners, competitors, and the interested public, creating and executing communications strategies to build the company's reputation.
  • Draft and manage the company's congressional engagement materials including white papers, power points, congressional testimony, and hearing prep.
  • Monitor, analyze, and engage in the annual congressional policymaking process to support the company's priorities.
  • Collaborate closely across functions at Rescale including revenue, engineering, product, and compliance.

Requirements

  • At least 8+ years of experience in government relations and/or federal government service in the executive or legislative branch.
  • Deep understanding of the U.S. federal authorization and appropriations processes and the ability to effectively advocate for initiatives within the process.
  • Ability to build coalitions and to develop and maintain relationships with key Congressional and executive branch officials and other key stakeholders.
  • Experience with policy and budget issues as well as acquisition process for both defense and civilian agencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter and quick study with fortitude and resilience to build out the function and rapidly iterate.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across functions in the company.
  • Ability to travel, up to approximately 25%.
  • Willingness to register as a federal lobbyist.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
