Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and executive team to support overall company growth and profitability.
  • Lead the development and execution of annual budgets, multi-year financial forecasts, and long-term capital planning.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities, financial risks, and business trends to support data-driven decision-making.

Project-Based Financial Management

  • Oversee all aspects of project financials including detailed job costing, WIP schedules, margin analysis, and project cash flow.
  • Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate tracking and forecasting of costs and revenues across electrical and low voltage projects.
  • Monitor financial performance of each contract to ensure targets are met or exceeded.

Accounting, Reporting & Controls

  • Manage all accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, financial statements, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting policies in compliance with GAAP and industry best practices.

Compliance, Risk & Treasury Management

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, bonding, and insurance requirements.
  • Oversee external audits, banking relationships, credit facilities, and treasury functions.
  • Manage corporate risk through proactive monitoring of financial exposure, contract compliance, and vendor agreements.

Technology & Process Improvement

  • Lead the optimization of financial systems, ERP, and project management tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Procore).
  • Identify and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and financial transparency.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (CPA or MBA strongly preferred).
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in the construction, electrical, or low voltage industry.
  • Deep knowledge of job costing, project accounting, cash flow management, and financial analysis in a contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead financial strategy and operations in a growing, multi-project organization.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and project-based ERP platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage 300, Procore).
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

Location & Reporting:

  • This is a full-time, on-site leadership position based in Miramar, Florida.
  • The CFO will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
