We are seeking a talented business analyst to support the ideation development and launch of an exciting customer-facing initiatives within instock management for our Fresh grocery business.
The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial thinking long-term and have a passion for data uncovering insights and telling business stories to leaders and stakeholders through metrics and visualizations. You will be directly embedded in the business as a trusted partner informing strategy tracking performance and driving excellence.
This role demands a high capacity to learn and be curious as we need to be constantly adapting to changes in our business and thinking about how we can bridge ambiguous business problems to actionable reporting and metrics. This also involves being up to speed with relevant tools and systems to help enable rapid this role you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally and innovate alongside talented Business Intelligence Engineers Instock Managers Operations and Category Program Managers Product Managers and Functional Leads.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Design develop and maintain ongoing metrics reports analysis dashboards on the key drivers of our business.
- Mine insights and use data to tell compelling business stories across topics such as supply chain selection customer demand insights CX etc.
- Support in feature prioritization by engaging stakeholders in constructive dialogues simplifying ambiguous business problems into logic problems that can be solved with data
- Flex your technical and business acumen to drive higher fidelity business decisions and operational excellence
- Learn new BI Retail and Ops systems such that you can meaningfully support process innovation using automation techniques.
- Design develop and implement scalable automated processes for data extraction processing and analysis

Key job responsibilities
As a Business Analyst on the Vendor Inbound Excellence team you will focus on exciting and challenging problems including:
Translate business problem statements into reports that answer customer questions
Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format
Influence and implement the teams approach to data
Learn new technology and techniques such that you can meaningfully support product and process innovation
Have in-depth knowledge of the data available and how to collect it; periodically identify more advanced methods of query optimization
Utilize basic data-manipulation tools and cross-check data to determine accuracy
Convert data to information through basic descriptions aggregations and pivots
Implement/deploy data visualization or communication tools (e.g. metrics dashboards decks flashes)
Share data with stakeholders to inform business decisions
Manage expectations; prioritize own workload and communicate status
- 1 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- 2 years of complex Excel VBA macros writing experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with SQL or ETL
- Experience working with Tableau
- Experience using very large datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
