About the team and role:

 

We play an instrumental role in connecting people with the things they need and love, anytime, anywhere. The Americas help deliver a personalized shopping experience and seamless access to inventory from down the street and around the world, as well as tailored shopping experiences, including customized buying and selling. eBay seeks to drive growth into new markets and drive value in the shopping and selling experience through building, accelerating, and reinventing. The team consists of marketing, merchandising, operations, business selling, consumer selling, and shipping.

 

 

What you will accomplish:

 

  • Identify and size opportunities in categories that align with the business long-term business objectives.

  • Conduct research, including market and competitor analysis, to support business cases for potential new categories and define/refine strategies and the tactics deployed to launch.

  • Analyse business data and track key performance metrics, monitor category and product trends and provide recommendations for the pre-launch phases of incubation categories.

  • Support the development of test plans for buyer and seller strategies to drive supply and demand in identified categories.

  • Collaborate with Product and gather input from stakeholders to create a shared vision, translate that vision into actionable plans and strategies to bring the vision to life.

  • Network across global category teams to understand current and future strategies, tools, and levers we could deploy to support new category launches.

  • Develop detailed operational plans, working in close collaboration with the cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, seller teams, trust, shipping and finance.

 

What you will bring:

  • A successful Senior Strategy and Operations will demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and natural curiosity, solid analytical, strategic thinking, and project management skills.

  • Clear and concise communication skills, ability to present to large audiences.

  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to collaborate on cross-functional teams.

  • Strong ability to gather and analyze data to form insights and recommendations. Preferred qualifications and experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or related field. +5-7 years of experience in retail, operations or business management and/or consulting.

 

 

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$101,200 - $174,100

 

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

 

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
